Launch of Women’s Muslim College

The Women’s Muslim College was officially launched on the 18th September 2017. The college’s vision can be surmised from its tagline, “Reviving Female Scholarship”. The college is unique in that it is one of the few institutions that has been established in the UK solely for the Islamic education of women.

The college has bee set up by Shaykha Safia Shahid with the goal of inspiring and empowering British Muslim women in the pursuit of attaining traditional Islamic knowledge to become the teachers and scholars of the future.

The Women’s Muslim College currently has 8 Alimahs and Ustadhas in their teaching faculty and are operating in 7 key cities across the UK. The college offers a number of diverse courses which include one year certificates, part time diplomas and its flagship four-year programme in ‘Islamic Sciences in the Modern Context‘. This four-year course has been designed to offer,

world-class education and produce female scholars grounded in Islam’s intellectual tradition, with the requisite skill and training to guide and lead in modern society“.
